Fabianski is a better goalkeeper than Ludo ever was.

Parkes the best for me although Ludo was excellent. Not sure how either would fare with their feet these days though!!! Got to mention Mervyn Day though as he had a couple of fantastic seasons but Ron's "next 10 years" quote hung around his neck like a deadweight when his form dropped.

Without doubt Parkes for me but Ludo gets an honerable mention.
However, Mervyn Day's first season was brilliant. I don't know why he couldn't repeat it after that. Shame because he would have become one of the world's best.

Parkes for me. Fabianski is pretty dam good though, especially considering the shaky defense he has in front of him.

SUM A DING WONG 5:20 I think Clare Tomlinson took a bit of time off after the incident. Never returned to Goals On Sunday though. She only seems to present late at night nowadays on SSN. She has aged a lot since those days. It wasn't her fault what happened. Poor woman was mortified I think.
I see Alex Scott is now Kamara's permanent co- presenter. She takes the piss out of Tottenham when she thinks she can get away with it, so I quite like her.

Parkes for me, unbelievably we paid a world record fee for a goal-keeper for him, £565,000!

So true Lato. Also, Parkesy was really good at coming out and catching the ball too - seems a bit of a dying art these days.

Have to agree the ball always stuck with big Phil. The palming, and punching away was always something foriegn keepers did

Re: Goalkeepers

Parkes was the best for me. I particularly liked his ability to do diving saves that he would hold onto - none of this palming the ball back into play.
Ludo had one of the biggest drop kicks I've ever seen.
A mention too for Ted Hufton. I would've liked to see him in action as I think he'd be right up there with our very best. Cost us £300 and played 456 times. Also capped for England (and broke his arm playing against Ireland!).
